Men's Rowing Prepares For Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, NJ. – The JU Men's rowing team is off to the races in New Jersey this weekend for the 85th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta.

The weekend is scheduled to set in the mid-sixties, with a mixture between small showers and sunny skies.

After almost three weeks off of racing, the Dolphins are on the heels of clinching the program's first automatic bid to the IRA Championships after its third-place finish at SIRA. The Varsity Eight's beat Colgate by less than a second, which had them place highest among IRA eligible teams, and clinch the team's bid for the first time in over a decade.

"After final exams and lot of tough training, the team is ready to rock three-eights deep at the Dad Vail Regatta," said head coach Preston Weinard, "I am proud of the word they have put in the past two weeks, and I am excited for this weekend's racing. Dad Vail is always a great opportunity for us, each event full of quality teams to compete against."

The regatta will be staged on the Cooper River at Cooper River Park, which runs 346.55 acres.

Coach Weinard also stated, "The goal is to represent the name on the chest this weekend; it's all about showing this regatta what JU is capable of, what we stand for, and show off all of the hard work we've done to this point. God bless the work!"
