Women's Rowing Picked To Threepeat In MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday, and the back-to-back conference champion Jacksonville Dolphins, were picked to repeat for the third season in a row.

"I am very excited about the upcoming season," said director of rowing and women's rowing head coach, Mike Lane. " Our women have worked very hard this year and I am very excited to watch them put their hard work to test. Being recognized by our peers is great, that being said it really means nothing until we start racing. We are continuing to raise our bar each year, and can't wait to see what we will accomplish this spring!"

The Dolphins are coming off the best season in both program and MAAC history. The team swept the MAAC Championships a season ago by a wide margin, and JU beat more boats at the NCAA Championships than any other conference program had in the MAAC's history as well.

JU kicks off its season with its senior day celebration on March 2. The Rock the Docks celebration occurs shortly after. Jacksonville races competition outside its own waters on the St. John's River on March 9, in Gainesville, as it faces Villanova.

The MAAC Championships are on May 19 this season, in Cherry Hill, NJ. Jacksonville will make numerous trips to the northeast this season, capped by the conference championship as it attempts to win its third consecutive conference championship.
