Women's Rowing Wraps-Up Day One of Racing Weekend

The Jacksonville women's rowing team wrapped up its first day of racing this weekend at Central Florida.

The team had six different boats raced and finished in second in every event. Central Florida took first on its home waters in all events, and UConn finished in third.

"It was great to watch our women get back on the water and compete," said head coach Mike Lane. "Overall, I thought it was a really solid start to the season. We have lots to learn and I am excited to continue to watch our athletes get faster every race. I look forward to getting back on the water to line up against MAAC competition tomorrow."

The Dolphins 3v4 and 3v8 got things started in the morning, followed by the 2v4. Jacksonville's 2v8 followed up the 2v4 and the Dolphins 1v8 finished off the day of racing.

JU travels East as they head for Stetson and will race familiar foes in Embry Riddle, Rollins, Florida Wesleyan, Drake and of course, Stetson. The first race of the morning is set for 10:10 am as JU's 1v8 will kick things off
